Meindert Zaalberg Bowl

Meindert Zaalberg Bowl

Meindert Zaalberg Bowl

A gorgeous bowl  designed by Meindert Zaalberg, made of white clay by Zaalberg Potterij in Leiden the Netherlands.
A beautiful colour combination of turquoise (Persian-green), ultramarine and dark brown glazes.  The shape and the glazes are designed by Meindert Zaalberg.  He called this glaze “persian green” but it was for only 3 years in production.  It was not waterproof because of the craquele in the glaze. The alkaline content was too high.  There is a little 2mm chip at the dark blue surface.
The base is marked with a (Zaal)berg (Hol)land stamp, only half of it is readable.
The condition is great.
